spam list checker
You can manage email lists. Have you ever wondered why most of your e-mail is marked as spam? I recently had this situation and found very curious. All the people on my mailing list who had opted for my final list using industry standards "Double opt-in" methods. What is surprising for me is that even when people said they wanted my e-mails, always complained about my message is spam. This made me think about what was happening.
user reports of spam
- The message is addressed to a spam folder.
- A notice of potential goes to a spam data bases (eg SpamCop)
Mail online reference databases such as "SpamCop" to treat Spam cons weeds before they reach your inbox.
Consequences of reporting spam
There are consequences for you as the sender of e-mails when those affected by the report spam "button. This is illustrated with an example.
Example
Say, for example, I have 1,000 people in my e-mail. All these people definitely want my e-mails. I know because I have chosen (twice) on my list. I go ahead and start sending e-mails to all these people. Let's say the first 10 people who receive the email, forgot that they have signed in my list and decide hit the mark as spam "in their email client. SpamCop now receives 10" complaints "or flags that my e-mail may be spam. The 990 other messages email are struggling to get delivered like Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo and everyone else looking at the SpamCop database that displays the message could be a suspect for spam. Obviously, this could have a significant effect for both as the sender of the message and other people on your list who really want their message.
Why why people post messages as spam?
I asked around my circle of friends and online research. There are obvious reasons as follows:
- People simply forget they have signed their mailing list.
- They are in a bad light with e-mail address to receive a lot of spam to others. Your message was quickly reported on the frustration of having a lot of spam.
In asking around, I found reasons to be not so obvious to me:
- The message recipient can not be interested on the subject. More like hitting the "unsubscribe" button, click the spam button. "Why?" Some reasons might include general suspicion of "unsubscribe" links or perhaps that "report spam" buttons are generally more accessible (at the top of the page) that "unsubscribe" buttons are usually placed in the bottom of e-mails.
- The person does not understand the technical differences between delete, remove subscription, as spam. One of my friends always hits the mark as spam "button, it" ceases to be delivered similar messages "to your mailbox.
The two points above really surprised me, but perfectly logical when you put on the skin of an Internet user not technically aware. Spam "report" button "works." For those of us trying to run online businesses that rely on email for communication, we must be aware and eat better than us.
Ideas
Now I think it is very likely that for each posting that I do some people always get to report spam "button. This is inevitable, is the nature of man. However, there are certain things that I think will significantly reduce the number of people who come to To report spam "button:
- Verified opt-in. This means that users need to confirm double that really want to add to my list.
- Regular mail () but not very regularly. In general I try to keep articles no more than a week. In this way, people remember my previous posts Articles weeks, but not too angry with the more common (eg day).
- Transparent unsubscribe. I always had an unsubscribe link at the bottom of my messages. Maybe I'll pass these to the top of the page.
